Getting started

Your podcast launch roadmap

Not sure where to begin? Follow these six steps and you’ll go from idea to published show — with or without our help.

1

Define Your Strategy

Start with your business goals, not your microphone. Who is your ideal listener? What action do you want them to take? A clear strategy is the difference between a hobby podcast and a business asset.

2

Nail Your Branding

Your podcast title, cover art, and show description are your first impression. Make your title searchable, your art eye-catching on small screens, and your description a compelling elevator pitch.

3

Get Your Gear

You don’t need expensive equipment to start. A quality USB mic, recording software, and a quiet space are all it takes. Start simple and upgrade when a real need presents itself.

4

Set Up Hosting & RSS

Your podcast host stores your audio files and generates the RSS feed that distributes your show to Apple, Spotify, and every other podcast app. Get this right and everything else flows.

5

Record & Produce

Record your first three episodes before launching — it gives new listeners something to binge. Professional editing, intros, and show notes make the difference between amateur and authority.

6

Publish & Promote

Distribute to all major platforms, set up your YouTube channel, optimize for SEO, create short-form clips for social, and build a promotion engine that works on autopilot.

Quick tips

Podcast wisdom in 30 seconds

Actionable advice you can apply to your next episode.

🎯

Lead With Value

Don’t save the best stuff for the end. Hook listeners in the first 60 seconds with a clear promise of what they’ll learn.

✂️

Repurpose Everything

One episode should become 8–10 short clips, a blog post, a LinkedIn newsletter, and social posts. Multiply your content.

🔍

Optimize for Search

Keyword-rich titles and show notes help new listeners find you through Google and YouTube — not just podcast apps.

📊

Track Drop-Off Points

Check your analytics for where listeners stop. A high early drop-off? Your intro is too long. Mid-episode? Tighten the pacing.

🎙️

Mix Your Formats

Alternate between solo episodes and interviews. Solo shows build authority; interviews expand reach. You need both.

📧

Build an Email List

Social platforms come and go. An email list is the one audience asset you truly own — start building it from episode one.

🤝

Notify Your Guests

When an episode publishes, send your guest a ready-made email with links and assets. Make it easy for them to share.

💰

Monetize Early

You don’t need 10,000 downloads to make money. Internal offers, affiliate marketing, and courses work at any audience size.

FAQ

Common questions, straight answers

How long does it take to get started?
When you sign up for Team Podcast, your confirmation email includes a link to schedule your initial meeting with your account manager. As soon as you schedule that meeting, we begin working for you.
What if I don’t need all the services you provide?
We understand that each podcast is at a different stage. We’ll work on only the tasks you want us to handle — nothing more, nothing less. And you can always add services later as your needs evolve.
How can I be sure Team Podcast’s work meets my standards?
You always have full control over the work we do. If you want to approve each task before publishing, we’re happy to do that. If something isn’t right, we’ll revise it until you’re satisfied — no questions asked.
Do I have to commit for a certain amount of time?
No contracts, no lock-in. You’re free to cancel at any time. By allowing you to cancel whenever you want, we have to earn your business every single month — and that’s exactly how we want it.
Can you handle special requests or custom workflows?
There’s no one-size-fits-all in podcast production. We’re happy to conform to your specific needs and processes. If a request falls within our team’s skill set, we’ll handle it at no additional charge.
Will my price ever change?
The price you sign up at is locked in for the life of your account. Prices may change in the future for new clients, but you’ll always keep your original rate.
What equipment do I need to get started?
At minimum, a quality USB microphone (we recommend the Shure MV7), recording software, and a quiet space. Don’t overthink the gear — start simple and upgrade when a real need presents itself. We can advise on setup during your strategy call.
Do you help with video podcasting too?
Yes — we provide full audio and video production. That includes long-form video for YouTube and Spotify, plus 8–10 short-form clips per episode optimized for Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok.
